MEET OUR STAFF
KEVIN D. SMITH
Kevin has been married to Jana Rousseau Smith since 1997. Kevin has served Louisiana United Methodist Churches in Monroe, Ferriday, Clayton, Vivian, Pine Ridge and Tangipahoa before moving to Winnfield in 2016.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State Unversity, a Masters of Divinity with Languages from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and has taken additional classes at Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, MO, Perkins School of Theology in Houston, TX and Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. Kevin became an Associate Member of the Louisiana Annual Conference in 2016.
He is an active member of the Winnfield Rotary Club and served as president of the Kentwood Rotary Club. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys fishing, particularly fly fishing and crappie (white perch) fishing, hunting, and reading. Kevin was an All-District Tenor in High School and still loves to sing. Kevin is also an avid sports fan, especially all LSU sports and New Orleans Saints football. Jana and Kevin have several “furry children.” They have two cats, an inside, gray cat named Sassy and a black outside cat aptly named Soot. They also have two retired racing Greyhounds, Walter and Angel.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT / FINANCIAL SECRETARY
Raynore has been a member of FUMC since she moved from El Paso in August 2014. She and her daughter Monica settled in Winnfield, after many years of traveling with the military.
She joined our staff as Administrative Assistant/ Financial Secretary in August 2014. She brings a joy of learning and an unending love for people to her position.
In her spare time, Raynore enjoys spending time with her family, reading and spoiling her grandson. Raynore and her husband Russell have been married since 2001.
DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN / YOUTH
Bryan, a lifelong native of Winnfield, have been serving First United Methodist as the Director of Children and Youth and their families since April 2010. He has been ministering to children and youth in Winnfield since 1994.
Bryan is also the Chief Deputy at the Registrar of Voters Office in Winn Parish. He finally “tied the knot” in 2009 and along with his wife, Susan has three children living at home.
Bryan keeps his “inner child” alive by watching cartoons and reading comic books.
Hector Delafuente has been the sexton for First United Methodist Church Winnfield since 2005. He does a superb job of keeping the church plant spotless and in good working order.
He also has a green thumb and provides invaluable service with the children’s garden. Hector has his own lawn service business here in Winnfield when he is not working at the church.
He has been married to Sharon since 1991 and they have one son, Hector Jr.
DIRECTOR OF KIDS’ WORLD
Tammy Hight is a lifelong resident of Winnfield. She came to First United Methodist Church in 1998 and has served in many different capacities including custodian, Youth and Children’s Department, Kids HOPE USA Director, Kids’ World After-school Director and Director of Weekday Ministries with Children.
Tammy and her husband of Carl have been married since 1980. They have one son, Allen who is married to Pam. Tammy dotes on her two grandbabies Zachary and Samuel.
CHANCEL CHOIR DIRECTOR
Jan Shell Beville began directing the FUMC Chancel Choir somewhere around 2000. Jan has sung in choirs in our church her entire life! Her heart is in teaching Sunday School to the Youth Class and leading Bible studies for women, along with working with her sister Fran Walton to lead the music program of First Methodist. Her attitude toward her job as Chancel Choir Director is summed up in the words of Psalm 104:33, “I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” Jan has been married to her husband Kiah since 1978.
Fran Walton is a retired English teacher who began playing for church when she was 14 years old. Fran is an accomplished pianist and organist whose music adds a rich dimension to our worship. Her grandparents were members of Winnfield FUMC—her parents grew up in this church and married here. Fran and her husband Sidney married in First United Methodist Church Winnfield in 1970 and raised their children, Matt and Sara Catherine, at FUMC. They have four grandchildren.
